Posted by John Love, Last modified by John Love on 01 May 2019 11:03 AM
This article will help you to integrate Pearson MyLab or Mastering content into your VCC Moodle course.
Integrating Pearson into Moodle makes it easier for your Students to access your Pearson course content, and easier to have Student grades from MyLab activities added to your Moodle course Gradebook.

In this article, you will add the Pearson MyLab & Mastering block to your course, and .then log in to MyLab & Mastering from within Moodle to link your Moodle and Pearson accounts. Once your accounts are linked, you and your Students only need to enter the Moodle course and click the Pearson link to enter your MyLab or Modified Mastering course. You won't need to log in to the Pearson site again.

Follow these steps to add the MyLab & Mastering block and to link your Moodle and Pearson accounts:

To add the MyLab & Mastering block to your course

  • Enter your Moodle course, and make sure that Editing is turned on.
  • In the Navigation drawer on the left (aka the "Hamburger menu"), slide to the bottom of the list and select "Add a Block".
  • Select MyLab & Mastering from the list of available blocks. You will see a new Pearson item added to the top section of your course, and a new Pearson block added in the right-hand column.

To link ("pair") your Moodle and Pearson accounts

Important! Before you start this procedure, you need your Pearson account username and password. If you do not have a Pearson account, get one from your Pearson sales representative.

  • Click MyLab & Mastering Tools in the block or in the general area of the course. The Pearson Tools page is displayed.
  • Click Select a MyLab & Mastering product to use with this course. Click "I Accept" at the bottom of the End-User Agreement and Privacy Policy, if applicable. The Link Accounts page is displayed.
  • Enter your Pearson account username and password and click Sign In.
  • The Congratulations! message is displayed when your Moodle and Pearson accounts are linked.
  • Click the yellow "Get Started" button to create your course and complete the initial course setup.
